What is minimally invasive surgery?
At Invictus, the purpose of minimally invasive surgery is to stabilize the joints and bones and to relieve causes of pressure resulting in pain. As opposed to traditional open surgery, minimally invasive surgical options and approaches are often faster, safer, and require less recovery time. Minimally invasive surgery also often can be accomplished as an outpatient procedure which also lowers costs to patients.
Compared to traditional open procedures, there is far less trauma to the muscles and soft tissues. This results in multiple benefits including reduced infection, less postoperative pain, better cosmetic results because of smaller incisions, and faster recovery time. In most situations, minimally invasive surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure. Invictus Healthcare patients typically incur lower costs as a whole.
